I have never been a fan of luggage, especially in airports. When I first got my hands on the Scaramanga Citylander Satchel I knew it would be the perfect bag for carry on. It is slim, secure and extremely convenient for keeping together my passport, boarding pass, and cash. With plenty of space for toiletries, padded section for my laptop, and a few magazines I was totally prepared for my flight to NYC.

After over two months apart due to work commitments Caitlin and I finally met up in none other than the city that never sleeps. It was a first visit to the city for us both and wow! New York City, a place that seems so overwhelmingly brand new, however, at the same strangely familiar. Of course we visited all the tourist sights in Manhattan.

The Medium Retro Satchel is the perfect bag for subway commuting. The tall vertical design of the bag allows you to keep it close to your body in that inevitably people packed subway car. The High Line has been recently renovated into a thriving garden pathway and opened for the public to walk its 1.5 mile span offering great views of the city from above the traffic.

We rented an apartment for the duration of our stay. First on our list was Williamsburg, an upcoming suburb of Brooklyn which is becoming increasingly more gentrified and trendy, whilst still managing to maintain a real honest Brooklyn vibe. There is a fantastic range of places to eat, drink, shop and watch live comedy - and of course we had plenty of opportunities to grab a some beautiful pictures along the way.

We stumbled upon the Brooklyn Flea Market completely by accident. Such a special treat when you find gems like this you did not expect. After the market we visited a tiny sand bank on the edge of the East River with breathtaking views of Manhattan.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a must for everyone in New York City, however, before you step foot onto the bridge itself there is so much more to see on the Western side of Brooklyn.

One of our favourite things about our Scaramanga bags is how transferable they are, this leather bag on Caitlin here was great for daytime and evening.
